Widowed 8 years ago and life just got very busy. I love helping others and being active - sitting and watching TV is not my idea of fun ! I walk loads and socialise with friends. When the days are wet and cold, I love to sit and read with a capaccino or meet friends for lunch and a glass of wine. I hate politics although I am a local politician for my sins and until recently was very involved in health - a subject which I am very passionate about. Having been married to the kindest man in the world, I am nervous about new relationships, so would want to take it slowly, but feel the time is right to start again.

I would like to meet someone who is kind, not the financial sort but in the way he lives his life. I do not want an overbearing person but someone who has their own active life, to share alongside my own busy schedule. I have Christian values and care deeply for others who are struggling - I would seek this in a man. I am involved in supporting some charities, and even if a man did not want to become involved, I would want him to respect my decisions. Selfish, demanding and unkind are traits that would not work for me - I am looking for a partnership on equal terms
